Political Activity

Misconduct can refer to political activity, which occurs when a police officer engages in political activities while on duty or while representing the police department. This can include advocating for a political candidate or issue, wearing political buttons or stickers while on duty, or making political contributions while on duty. Political activity by police officers can create the appearance of partiality and harm public trust in law enforcement. In many jurisdictions, police officers may be restricted from engaging in certain types of political activity to maintain the impartiality and neutrality of the police department.
