Statement

In 2014 and 2015 I was arrested and charged with multiple Drug and Weapons offenses in various california jurisdictions in which I was eventually agreeing to cooperate with Narcotics taskforce. Mark Zlendick was a special agent assigned to me and also involved with search warrants in previous arrests. In may 2015 the officer was arrested in a nearby state where he resided for domestic violence and narcotics sales and corruption. I went to trial in January 2016 and wasnt told of this. Then in Feb. 2016 the detectives case was settled via plea agreement. Had this evidence been disclosed my case would have likely ended in a non-prison sentence but instead ended with a 15 year total aggregate sentence.

Definition of Offense(s)

Evidence that is favorable to the defendant (exculpatory) and could impact the outcome of the defendant’s case (material) is often called “Brady material” because of the seminal 1963 U.S. Supreme Court case, Brady v. Maryland.
