Officer James Hill was involved in the lethal use of force that ended the life of Charles Pettit Jr.  The shooting was surrounded by controversy, although Hill was cleared by former officer and Oklahoma County District Attorney, David Prater.  Hill returned to duty after being cleared by the prosecutor.  The family of the 19 year old subject later filed a civil rights suit against Hill.
