Statement

Evidence shows, Immediately upon coming in contact with the victim, Officer Lorz demanded he put his phone down, preventing him from recording the interaction. Officer Lorz followed up  by removing a personal item from the victim's pocket, throwing it away. Within 30 second of contacting the victim, Officer Lorz choose to aggressively escalate his stop with force and unnecessarily detain the victim with mechanical restraints. Officer Lorz used false statements, claiming the victim was observed stealing items from an automobile, and thus demanded the victim to relinquish his fourth amendments right and surrender his ID. Officer Lorz lied and stated several times the victim refused to talk, but in fact evidence shows it was the officer who refused to talk, instead escalate into police brutality, excessive force and false imprisonment.

Definition of Offense(s)

False statements by a police officer fall under the category of police misconduct and refer to instances where a police officer deliberately makes false or misleading statements under oath, in official reports, or in any other official capacity.

Police brutality is the use of excessive and unnecessary force on the part of a police officer when he is interacting with a civilian, resulting in a violation of the civilian’s civil rights.

The term police misconduct refers to illegal or inappropriate action engaged in by law enforcement officers.

Law enforcement personnel are held to personal standards higher than other members of our communities. Conduct unbecoming has been a common and historical charge used in controlling and censuring police officers and other public employees, for both on and off duty actions.
