Deputy Sergeant Saul Bermudez failed to report Sheriff Nick Donderos criminal history to proper authorities having full knowledge he was working with a convicted criminal who is prohibited from firearm possession. Bermudez also failed to take any action against his daughter Kat Shampang who is also a Esmeralda Deputy. Shampang was arrested in July 2023 by the Nye County Sheriffs Office for DUI while driving an Esmeralda County patrol vehicle. Bermudez is complicit in Donderos criminal activity and should be de certified by Nevada POST and arrested for conspiracy to commit a felony but he is now acting Sheriff.
