Statement

In my initial petition to revoke probation hearing a special prosecutor was appointed because i live across the street from fountain county prosecutor Daniel Askren’s uncle - William Askren. William and I have both called the police on each other multiple times and he has harassed my employees on more than one occasion telling them I am a bad person and that I won’t pay them. I have tried to have him charged with harassment but because of the Askren family’s close relationship with the police no action was taken. There is an Askren on the Attica police force, William Askren was an Attica town official, Daniel Askren is the prosecutor, and another Askren works in the county court building. I am a relative newcomer only having lived there for two years having moved in from New York. When I subsequently went in for a modification hearing Daniel Askren spoke for the prosecutor’s office and after serving 60 days on a misdemeanor driving suspended charge had me serve an additional 60 days. I believe he did this because his uncle wanted me to get foreclosed on. When Daniel Askren was initially asked to recuse himself he refused telling my defense attorney “I hope she harasses my uncle more.” But subsequently he was seen touring the factory from which his uncle William was retiring with the entire Askren family. I believe Daniel Askren should be admonished in some way for his actions.
