In September 2007 Deputy Jeff Long was ordered to undergo additional training following a finding of unprofessional conduct by the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office. In February 2012 Long included false information in a police report to protect the safety of the informant. The false information was not relevant to the issue of the defendant’s guilt but served to throw off suspicion of who the informant was.
