Allowed an added felony and upgraded charge to stand because a Baxter county sheriff(George Hinson) did NOT perform his job conducting an improper search of a suspects bag after making an arrest. The suspect was taken to Baxter county detention center for booking. A small amount of drugs were found in the bag after booking started and suspect was charged with furnishing prohibited articles to the jail. The officer was in possession of the bag not the suspect. Had a proper search been conducted,this article would have been discovered at time of arrest. What if the bag contained an explosive or worse? Afterwards the suspect was threatened to agree to a ridiculous plea bargain. The suspect was also assaulted during arrest and treated inhumane by jail staff. This is the short version of this incident. There are many more details,travesties and names accountable.
