Bryan Moore of the Columbus Police Department (CPD), Mississippi acted as the Public Information Officer (PIO)
In March 2022, Columbus Police Department officers responded to a 2:30 a.m. emergency call at a local apartment complex. Upon discovering that the subject of the domestic dispute was an active-duty colleague, Officer Bryan Moore, responding CPD officers requested the intervention of the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) to avoid an inherent conflict of interest.
Officer Moore subsequently surrendered to the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office and was formally booked on a misdemeanor charge of domestic violence. Following the arrest, he was placed on paid administrative leave by the Columbus Police Department pending internal review. He was subsequently reinstated to active duty and later elevated to Public Information Officer under Chief Joseph Daughtry.
