On 12/05/2017, former OKCPD officer, Keith Patrick Sweeney was charged with 2nd Degree Murder for the shooting death of Dustin Pigeon in November of 2017. Sweeney was convicted of the crime on 12/18/2019 and sentenced to 10 years in prison. During the trial, Sgt. Erik Howell testified that Pigeon didn't have a gun or a knife. "I did not observe any threatening acts," Howell said.
District Attorney David Prater was the prosecutor on the case.
