On 07/19/2016, Love County Sheriff, Marion Joe Russell was arrested on the below charges:
COUNT 1 - "Harboring a Fugitive From Justice" - a FELONY, On or between the 20th day and the 6th day of April 2015, Joe Russell "Willfully and feloniously harbored Sara Bamburg, a person who has been charged and seeking to avoid arrest for the crime of false impersonation of another, as set out in Carter County Case Record CF-2014-00595. Also Bamburg was charged and seeking to avoid arrest for the crime of knowingly concealing stolen property, as set out in Love County case Record CF-2014-00111. Bamburg also had warrants for her arrest for violating the terms & conditions of probation from Carter County Case Record CF-2013-00647. Russell allowed Bamburg to reside in his home "free from the consequences of said warrants".
COUNT 2 - "Maintaining a House Where Drugs are Kept" - a FELONY, on or between the 2nd day of April 2011, through the 29th day of May 2015, Russell "maintained" a certain house in Leon, Oklahoma resorted to by various persons who use and obtain controlled substances of methamphetamines in violation of Oklahoma law.
The charges were filed by Assistant Attorney General, Katherine R. Savage, under Oklahoma Attorney General E. Scott Pruitt.
