911 was called for a suicidal friend. So was I. I got to my friend, picked him up, was driving away. The police and him had an altercation, friend fired in the air, was shot by police. Of the 4 civilian witnesses on scene, I was the only one who followed police instruction. Police video evidence will show me saying I’m disabled, yet still the only one cuffed in the back, despite requesting shackles in front. I asked why I was detained, “deputy Collins” said I wasn’t. Yet I was cuffed in the back of patrol car over 1.5 hours. I asked for ambulance 3 times, was told by “deputy Collins” they could make that happen. They did not. At my 4th or 5th request, deputy Collins attempted to remove my cuffs, move them to the front. He asked Deputy Hicks for my keys, he was told “he can fucking wait”… yet the deputies were standing in front of the car, with the other 3 witnesses (no cuffs ever) just chatting. Deputy Hicks was the officer in charge, and directed deputy Collins. Both betrayed my civil rights, egregiously. I can’t figure out how to add both names. They denied my requests for help. They lied about my detention. This is only the beginning of the lies. I was not charged with a crime, as I did not commit one. However, my friend was. They’ve controlled the media in Trigg county to stifle the truth, and lies have been told in local court of law. I’m happy to testify to the facts, and video evidence will support this. I had a shoulder operation 3 weeks later due to these events, and I’m still treated for PTSD to this day. They won’t release evidence to me. That too is being held under false pretenses by Kentucky State Police. They claim they can’t release, because the prosecution hasn’t decided to not press charges. Despite this being 3 years ago. Since this event, Deputy Hicks has created a moniker and a Facebook page bragging of the shooting. Much more evidence exists that they won’t release. I have requested evidence, but continuously denied.
