Deputy Montijo conducted a pretextual traffic stop on me, at approx. 10pm, claiming false traffic infractions with the purpose of illegally searching my vehicle. I was not cited and released, I was held based on suspicion for 1.5 hours until the K9 unit could arrive. The K9 unit then scratched up the paint by jumping up onto my vehicle multiple times. The K9 was said to have alerted to the presence of something that required my vehicle to be searched. My vehicle was searched and I was arrested for allegedly possessing a small amount of drugs and paraphernalia. Deputy Montijo made a second pretextual traffic stop about 5 months later, and forced me to allow him to retrieve a locked gun safe from under the seat of my vehicle and open it so he could run the numbers on the gun and make sure I was able to possess the gun. I was cleared eventually and allowed to leave with the gun. 4 months later, I was stopped by another Sheriffs deputy and the gun was broken out of the gun safe and seized without a warrant.
