Date of Offense
Statement
Paul E. Koppel got behind me due to an expired tag, he claimed that my rear lights were out, I was traveling in my Ford Explorer in pursuit of happiness to record a music video, the officer ran my tag without due process violating the fourth amendment he swore an oath to. He used his emergency lights to pull me over for a traffic infraction when there was no emergency call to do so, I complied with the order of the officer by pulling over. I put the automobile in park, turned the lights off & took the keys out of the ignition. The officer kept his lights on blinding me from visualizing which side the officer was coming from. When he approached me I placed my hands on the door one on top of the other where he can see them. He asked do I know why he pulled me over & I replied no. He said that my license plate decal was expired, there was no mentioning of my brake lights being out, all of my doors were jammed shut including the trunk of the automobile so I couldn't replace the brake lights if I needed to yet he put in his police report that they were non-functional. He asked me for my driver's license, I told Paul Koppel that I am not driving & that I was traveling. The conversation between us was about traveling didn't end well due to Paul Koppel incompetents on the matter, I asked for a supervisor and he told me he was the supervisor. He asked me for my name and I told him, when he seen my level 3 holster it got worse, he asked if I had a gun in the car and I answered yes. For the officers safety he wanted to know where my gun was located while I was already in a submissive position. I pleaded the fifth, he then grabbed his gun from his holster and pointed his gun at my face yelling don't move or I will shot when I was doing what he said before he said it. I am a licensed security guard, my holster was on top of my bookbag, my bookbag was zipped up with my gun in my gun case that was on top of my security officer uniform. When back up arrived it was in total 11 officers on the scene to assist with the arrest, I did not consent to any search & seize. They checked me for weapons, searched my automobile to find my conceal carry permit and my passport. I asked if I am being detained, they told me I was under arrest, there was no injured party for during the time of arrest. My firearm was in their possession for ten months before I could get back possession to have the right to bear arms due to the fact that Paul Koppel put on the report for the offense was obstruction of justice/resist arrest & escape. I ended up in court only facing a misdemeanor, the Internal Affairs of Coral Gables did not do a investigation and Edward James Hudak of Coral Gables Police Department did not want to see me about this case.
