Absent Without Permission

Being absent without permission occurs when a police officer fails to show up for work or fails to follow proper procedures for taking time off. This can include failing to request time off, failing to call in when absent, or being absent without a valid reason. Being absent without permission can undermine the efficiency and effectiveness of the police department, and can also harm the reputation of the police department and public trust in law enforcement.
