Statement

On Jan 6th 2026, officer Armstrong, alongside others that renamed unnamed were in the process of seizureofa 2020 jeep grand Cherokeethat had been reported stolen 2 days prior by an individual who claimed to own the vehicle. I was not present initially, however spoke over the phone to the officer the moment I was made aware of the situation. I arrived to the location shortly after. I explained to the officer that the Jeep belonged to me. I had the keys as well as paperwork proving that I purchased it approximately six months prior to the current day. The officer refused to allow me access to these documents. Stated it was " reported stolen 2 days ago by an individual who could (possibly) claim ownership it of." Immediately I explained that there were documents inside that were proof of purchase. He refused to allow me access. I feel like my vehicle has been stolen from me by the police department. I was not taken into custody for operating a stolen vehicle. I was not provided with any documents explaining the situation. They simply took my possessions without valid proof or reasoning. My 4th amendment rights were violated fully. Processes were disregarded.
