Norman Police Detective, John Barbour, shared a youtube video to the Ward 8 Facebook Page from City Council Woman, Alex Scott's, encounter with the Norman Police at her home in May of 2020 that showed the front of her residence, then shared the council member's arrest record. He and Norman Police Officer Michael Lauderback, posted comments on social media against the council woman.
Norman Police leadership acknowledged that an officer "doxxed" the city council member, but claimed her address was "public information" and refused to discipline officer Lauderback. As of August 10, 2020, it was confirmed that OSBI had opened an investigation into the rape of Scott's neighbor, but stated publicly that the investigation was limited only to the rape investigation.
This occurred just shortly after a Lexington Police Officer, Edward Zaicek, posted comments calling for Norman Mayor Brea Clark to be "hung" in public.
