On or about August 24, 2020 Marcus Harper, was a supervisor in Tulsa PD's Major Crimes Unit (known also as the homicide division)  and Carson Ananias (Riverside Division) were called by Latoya Dythe after a shooting near 61st and Peoria involving Edward Townsell and Jonathan Jones (brother to Dythe's boyfriend Devon Jones).  According to an affidavit, Jonathan Jones was at Dythe's home with the weapon used in the shooting when the two officers arrived.  Harper and Ananias looked at the damage to Dythe's car from the shooting and met with her, her boyfriend, Devon Jones, and his brother Jonathan. Knowing of Jone's involvement, they advised Dythe to not tell anyone they had come by, and did not report the crime.  Documents state that Harper and Ananias told Devon and Jonathan Jones to get rid of the guns and leave town.
