I was a passenger and a vehicle that was pulled over for only expired tags the following is what this officer did which was not professional whatsoever he needs to be reprimanded immediately I am a former canine officer and I'm very offended by what this officer has done here is the list Demand that I give him my name/identification Detain me when I repetitively asked him over and over why I needed to step out of the vehicle he said simply because and that was it a one-word response is not acceptable I told him that obviously no crime had been committed or was even ongoing I was not and neither was the driver on probation or parole never have been As I was stepping out of the vehicle willingly yet asking for an explanation as to why I had to step out of the vehicle he said well you were a cop so I'm sure you understand will know that's why the question is being asked obviously he then put his hands on me in a very unprofessional rough way to quote unquote detain me for absolutely no reason no explanation just the simple one word of because. After getting a little rough with me even though I willingly got out of the vehicle on my own he said now I'm going to pat you down last time I checked and when I was a canine officer I was pretty sure a female had to do that he definitely was not a female then he told me to go sit on the front bumper of his vehicle which I did without hesitation he then searched for no reason and illegally searched the vehicle after a while he came back and asked if I wanted anything out of that vehicle as he was going to impound it I said yes I would like my purse he said I will walk with you to the vehicle I reached into the backseat to get it and he said no I will be getting it as it will be getting searched again this is not professional and it's illegal as again I am not on search or seizure probation parole of any kind nor there was no crime being committed on going etc there was no reason for a search he then asked me again for the second time how long I had been doing drugs I do not do drugs I was a bit under the weather and I guess I didn't look presentable to him so I guess that means I look like a full-blown drug addict . I do have all this on recorded video though the phone ended up being in my pocket you can clearly hear the officer throwing the fact that I was a canine officer into my face which is unacceptable I do have the video and I'm more than willing to send it in to the department without hesitation immediately if requested I would like something to be done immediately to the officer as this is not a good way to present your department suspension would be nice I would like for the officer involved to be immediately terminated from his position I understand that this officer is a new hire that is no excuse for his behavior . I am currently working with a lawyer and will most definitely take this all the way against the officer and the whole entire San Benito county sheriff's department if nothing is done.
