Officer Voss pulled my husband and myself over for a broken windshield however nerve asked for our insurance, registration or our IDs . He immediately wanted to know where the drugs were And after my husband told him he didn’t understand why he wanted to search our car he didn’t agree to the search officer Voss profiled my husband based on an expired parole card that he had already completed. Officer voss proceeded to retrieve his K-9 out of his vehicle and walked past me with no indication from the k-9 of any drugs and walked him around my car and said he alerted to my cigarette pack. Nothing was found and then he searched my husband’s wallet more with no findings and lastly my car and still found no drugs. He patted me down and nothing was found and contacted a local corrections officer (Cheyanne Byford)that was a female to conduct another search on my person. Right before the C.O. Arrived he proceeded to put the K-9 unit back in his patrol car walking past me again with the k-9 and again no change of behavior from the dog. When the C.O. Initiated the search she claimed to have found 0.6gm of meth and charged me with manufacture of meth. What I’m not understanding is If the k-9 wad the reason for the search on my car why is it he never alerted to me when walked by me twice since the drugs were allegedly found in my front right pocket. Officer voss was forced to resign in Rutherford County Murfreesboro police department in 2019 to prevent an internal investigation based on allegations of assaulting his fellow officer by placing the other officer in a choke hold. I would also like to add that several witnesses(police officers) made similar statements about the incident claiming Voss was angry at the time and lifted the other officer off the floor for several seconds in the choke hold. Officer voss was the only one to claim it was a bear hug and only a joke. Also since my charge and arrest he has left cannon county after evidence had come up missing in the drug evidence department and refused a drug screen. He then went to Grundy County and they are now under investigation and the time in question is the time he was employed with them. He now works for another department and out of all 3 departments he was employed less than a year in each.
