Statement

On Dec. 11, 2020, I was arrested with numerous charges, including a felony charge for “assault on a law enforcement officer.” I knew the officer (Steven Davis) who was arresting me because he ate and slept in his car every day by the beach, where I lived and would walk my dogs. I reported him less than a week BEFORE my arrest to BSO’s Internal Affairs department. Not only did I submit a formal complaint, but I also personally emailed Major Wayne Adkins about my run-in with Davis. My email was opened more than 35 times. I know because I tracked it. I reported Davis when he told me, “He was going to keep targeting me because I was nasty, and he didn’t like me.” He harassed me on my walks with my service dogs for months before arresting me. I have a video of our first encounter, which he lies in, dating back to October 2020. On the day of the arrest, Davis was waiting for me by my apartment. He waited until I was entering my condo’s garage to arrest me to make the biggest scene. He didn’t tell me why he was arresting me. He just yanked me from my car and kneed me to the ground. BSO didn’t take one picture of my bruises and they told me, if I kept crying they would hold me longer and make it worse. They wouldn’t even give me bail for 2 days. My case was “adjudicated” in 2022. I agreed to settle for “misdemeanor - resisting without violence.” But it’s still showing up on my background reports, costing me jobs and this whole situation has seriously traumatized me. I was homeless for a year, and I still can’t find a sturdy job again, despite having 13+ years of professional experience and proven results under my belt. This has seriously messed me up and I want justice. This man has a history/pattern of abuse of power, yet there’s only been 4 substantiated Internal affairs complaints against him. They won't tell me he's had in total. They are protecting this man, who makes $116,000 / year to prey on young women. This cop explicitly lied in his report of our encounter, and I'm sure he's doing it to others. He said I hurt his right index finger. How? I was handcuffed the moment he kneed me to the ground and attacked me. I didn't have a chance to even touch him, not that I would have. The only reason I settled is because the prosecutor wanted me to go to prison. I have never had a run in with the law before, and I had a steady, good, professional job, so why take away tax payers money with prison for someone who doesn't even deserve it? BSO in its entirety needs to be investigated. https://www.casemine.com/judgement/us/59146c21add7b0493430a2a0 https://sun-sentinel.com/2023/08/16/deputy-who-accused-pompano-woman-of-assault-has-history-of-aggressive-arrests-her-attorney-says/ https://www.sun-sentinel.com/2023/08/02/cop-asked-her-for-id-without-saying-why-now-shes-charged-with-assaulting-him/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G_eNxyhrIw8 https://forums.leoaffairs.com/showthread.php?789476-Steve-Davis-at-it-again&s=42536aed9db47b222d73608f9285c285 (even cops hate him) https://m.facebook.com/browardsheriffsoffice/posts/3984601811576916/?comment_id=3986707251366372&_se_imp=0bPBMtmPESZNNLnmH
