Statement

Would not give me a complaint number for the rape I reported. When I called back, dispatch blocked me from speaking to him. Ne dispatch person went so dar as to say that no one by that name worked here (even though it popped up here on the Brady List with badge number.
The man I allege assaulted me in Roper St. Francis is a radiology tech from Africa. People in downtown Charleston who are students who get in by affluence know how to keep from answering for what they do here. I am trying not to have to give my report multiple times. The insensitivity (bordering on collusive) of officer Fetter needs to be addressed.

Bias

Slow / No Response

Misconduct can refer to slow or no response, which is a violation that occurs when a police officer fails to respond promptly and effectively to calls for service or other requests for assistance.

South Carolina Freedom of Information Act

S.C. Code Ann. §30-4-10 to 30-4-55

The South Carolina Freedom of Information Act is a series of laws designed to guarantee that the public has access to public records of governmental bodies in South Carolina. South Carolina’s definition of records includes all records, no matter their physical characteristics, that were “prepared, owned, used, in the possession of, or retained by a public body.”

Anyone may request public records and a statement of purpose is not required. The South Carolina Freedom of Information Act prohibits the use of police reports, information about disabled individuals and employee information for commercial purposes. There is a 15 day period for a business to respond to records requests.
