On 5-08-2021 I called Payette County Sheriffs office to file a report of child abuse. This report came approximately 3 weeks after Nampa Police Department had failed to inform me that the crime "wasnt in their jurisdiction and needed to be called into Payette county." During the initial phone call I had explained to the officer the situation and incidents that had occured leading me to call them. I was told the information would be forwarded to a detective and they would be calling me to further discuss. A CARES interview was set and completed and I had met Detective Jason Jones at the Nampa Family Justice Center 05-18-2021 to further discuss. His demeanor during that time truly made me feel as if yet again, Law enforcement didnt really care. According to the report on 5-28-2021 Detective Jones had called the perpetrator to discuss the situation. As you will see in the report attached it was not a professional phone call and was more of a "tip off" to me then an actual investigation. He failed to investigate. He failed to look beyond the perpetrators lies of "a custody tiff" and he failed my son. He was quick to close the case and refused to take anything I said serious. Over the course of the last year I was able to get custody changed to only supervised visits with my sons father (who is also the perpetrator in this case) and had also taken him to counseling faithfully during that time in which more disclosures had been made. Detective Jones has not reopened the case and has not reached out to me in any regards. I trusted Law enforcement. I trusted that they cared about my children and Justice just like they say they do. The detectives I have dealt with absolutely do not. They have made it a nightmare for me with how they handle reports and the way they chose to investigate crimes. Because of his lack of due diligence I was constantly harassed by the perpetrator and his family, I was bribed to make it all go away, and I was threatened that they would take my son from me. I had to change my phone number and install cameras outside my house just to get some sort of peace of mind throughout this trauma Im doing my best to guide my children through. Had Detective Jones done his job how he took an oath to do it, it would have saved me so much heartache and would have given my children a chance at justice.
