At approximately 4:45 am, a vehicle was stopped for allegedly running a stop sign by Choctaw Tribal Police. Two civilians stopped to film the traffic stop of their friend to ensure his safety. When objections were made by a female Choctaw Tribal officer, they requested a supervisor. Lt. Frank Burrola from Bryan County Sheriff's Office arrived on scene and immediately threatened "Go or you're going to jail". He then physically assaulted both of them, handcuffing and detaining the male civilian. The female civilian reports Burrola pulled her by her hair while threatening to arrest her for obstruction. It appears that Burrola did have a body camera on his person, but no lights were visible to indicate it was active at the time of incident.
The subject of the traffic stop was arrested and the two civilians were released. No charges have been filed on the two civilians at this time.
