Official Statement
In OPA case 2017OPA-0139, the Seattle Office of Police Accountability investigated allegations of misconduct involving a Seattle Police employee. Upon review of the available evidence, OPA issued a finding of “Not Sustained – Lawful and Proper.”
This classification indicates that the investigation determined the officer’s actions were consistent with department policy and within the scope of lawful authority, and that the available evidence did not support a conclusion that misconduct occurred.
As a result, no disciplinary action was imposed, and the case was administratively closed with a determination that the conduct in question did not violate Seattle Police standards.
