Description: On June 22, 2022, Officer Mena‐Ramos solicited a political aide, seeking personal preferment and intercession, regarding his pending disciplinary matter and requested the aide to intervene on his behalf. Officer Mena‐Ramos retired prior to imposition of discipline in December of 2023.

The New Jersey Open Public Records Act became the state’s sunshine law in 2002, replacing, and significantly improving, a pre-existing right-to-know law.
