Statement
Officer Adam Gebert stopped me while I was moving my vehicle to another parking spot at an apartment complex for not having my lights on. I explained i was just moving from in front of a USPS mail box so as not to block mail delivery the next day. I informed him after some conversation that "I felt this was a bull**** stop and would like his supervisor present" which that request was denied. He then extended the traffic stop to a DUI allegation of my being under the influence of opiates after I had challenged his legal authority to stop me on private property. After first stating my objections he attempted to search me without cause where I resisted and was taken to the ground. After being handcuffed I was kneed in the ribs to roll me over to complete his search. After other officers arrived I was upset from the interaction and made choice words which he then came over to me sitting on the ground and struck me in the face where other officers can be heard telling him to stop. I was taken to the hospital for a blood draw and had no opiates in my system. Months later I was arrested by troopers outside of Wasilla City Limits and Gebert showed up to inform me he was also going to take my truck. My truck was taken in January and held until the end of March without a warrant filed, and the State had no knowledge of this. I have filed complaints with the Wasilla Police Department which was ignored and never responded to. I have also filed a complaint with the Alaska Police Standards Board as well but this officer is still employed. I have videos and paperwork of clear USC1983 Violations from this officer but no attorneys in this State will proceed with a case. He should not be allowed to serve the public and carry a weapon if this is how he reacts. He should be absolutely fired .
