Statement
The incident involving Officer Bradley Chambers of the Meridian Police Department revolves around his aggressive interaction with a group of young men following a dirt bike crash. In June 2024, after a 16-year-old crashed his dirt bike and was taken to the hospital, his brothers went to retrieve the bike from the scene. While loading the bike into their truck, they were approached by Officer Chambers.
According to video footage, Officer Chambers used force when one of the brothers, Samson Allen, did not immediately comply with his commands. Chambers forcibly grabbed Samson, swept his legs out from under him, and tackled him to the ground. The officer then drew his Taser and pointed it at the brothers, ordering them to back away. This encounter, captured on video, raised concerns over the officer's use of excessive force, particularly since the situation did not appear to warrant such aggressive tactics.
Officer Chambers was transferred to the Boise Police Department while the investigation remains ongoing.
