On or about February 20, 2024, Judge Joe Trail for the Oklahoma District Court of Coal County granted a bench warrant be issued [SC-2019-00048] against Healdton Police Chief, Robert Roebuck Jr., after Roebuck was ordered to appear for a for a hearing on assets related to a civil judgement issued against him in the amount of $302.00.
Roebuck received notice of the hearing on or about February 7, 2024, as evidenced by the green card filed in court records, indicating he was served at his place of employement, The Healdton Police Department.
The warrant was active for 27 days.
It was not until members of the public posted concerns regarding the warrant to social media that a payment was made to recall the warrant on March 18, 2024 at approximately 9:00 am.
Chief Roebuck was hired by Healdton City Manager, Gus Handke [Husband of District Attorney Melissa Handke], in approximately June of 2023. The small claims case was filed in 2019, even a rudimentary backround check would have revealed his financial issues to his potential employer.
We will not stand by as our brothers and sisters are brutalized, criminalized, and silenced.
We reject a world where the powerful profit from our poverty and our lives are treated as expendable. We will not wait for justice to be handed down from above.
We will organize, resist, and take it for ourselves.
WE ARE NO LONGER ASKING...
