Officer abruptly grabs protester and pulls her to the ground.
District Attorney Larry Krasner charged Bologna with aggravated assault on June 5, 2020, but a judge dismissed the charges on Jan. 15, 2021. Krasner’s office told ProPublica in May 2021 that it planned to refile the charges. Because Bologna was charged criminally, police Commissioner Danielle Outlaw suspended him for 30 days after the incident with the intent to fire him at the end of his suspension. John McNesby, a Philadelphia police union leader, voiced his support for Bologna after the incident and has created a T-shirt for sale in support of the suspended officer. Bologna is also involved in another incident on this list. Bologna’s lawyer, Fortunato Perri Jr., didn’t return a request for comment in March 2021.
