Sustained Charge: Indictable Offense Description: Officer Fariyd Holmes was charged with N.J.S.A. 2C:29‐2b – Eluding, a second‐degree crime. It is alleged, while off duty, Officer Holmes operated his personal motor vehicle in a reckless manner, at a high rate of speed disregarding red traffic signals, weaving in and out of traffic, and almost striking a marked patrol vehicle head‐on, while eluding Atlantic City Police after having received a signal to bring the vehicle to a full stop by command of the police, and by such conduct, created a risk of death or injury to the public. Officer Holmes was suspended pending the outcome of criminal charges.
