Sean Barnett is listed as an Instructor for the private police training company that provides "Street Cop Training" that is BANNED in New Jersey, Minnesota, Missouri, Maryland, Illinois, California, Oregon, Nevada and Michigan for it's UNCONSTITUTIONAL POLICING TACTICS and TECHNIQUES.
After a law enforcement training convention held in Atlantic City [10/08/2021] New Jersey Office of the State Comptroller published a REPORT outlining the unbecoming conduct of the instructors. The report blasted Street Cop instructors for glorifying violence, promoting unconstitutional policing tactics, and encouraging insubordination and offensive behavior.
An excerpt from the NJ Report named Sean Barnett and described how he joked about law enforcement officers loving guns and “shooting folks . . . not shooting folks, but shooting well. Sometimes you have to shoot folks.”
FOX25 News quoted NJ Comptroller, Kevin Walsh, stating:
"Instructors taught unconstitutional policing practices, teaching officers to stop motorists without a lawful basis and to illegally prolong traffic stops," said Walsh.
"They denigrated women and racial and ethnic minorities. They promoted a warrior mentality and glorified violence. They belittled internal affairs. They dehumanized civilians. They made jokes about their genitalia and harassed members of the audience," Walsh said. "And this training was paid for with public funds."
Through Wendy Suares' journalism efforts, it was discovered that Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office and Oklahoma City Police Department both purchased the training for officers using public funds. At the time of her report [06/03/2024] she was awaiting record responses from: Cleveland County Sheriff's Office, Edmond Police Department, and Norman Police Department.
Street Cop’s annual conference this year [2024] was scheduled to start April 28 in Kissimmee, Florida, despite Street Cop founder Dennis Benigno declaring bankruptcy.
