Esmeralda County Sheriff Nicholas Dondero is carrying a firearm and acting as a Peace Officer in felony violation of NRS 202.360 Persons Prohibited from Carrying a Firearm. Dondero was convicted of Battery Domestic Violence in 2007.

The Nevada Open Records Act is a series of laws designed to guarantee that the public has access to public records of government bodies at all levels. Public records includes all books and records of all government entities.
