I was standing near the field after the game at Pee Dee Academy when the scene suddenly turned chaotic. What had just been a school baseball game quickly became something far more serious. In the middle of the confusion, I saw School Resource Officer Eddie Page restrain Andrew Bowers, a player from the opposing team. In a moment that shocked everyone around me, I saw Page strike him in the head with a Taser.
The atmosphere changed immediately. People nearby appeared stunned, and the tension on the field escalated as spectators and others tried to understand what had just happened. From where I stood, it was clear that this was no ordinary post-game confrontation. What I witnessed was a disturbing use of force against a student-athlete during what should have been a routine school sports event.
Afterward, it was evident that the incident would draw serious attention. The event was later reported to be under investigation by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, and the officer was reassigned while that investigation moved forward. From my perspective as a witness, it was a deeply unsettling scene that stood out because of how quickly an ordinary evening at a school game turned into a violent and widely scrutinized incident.
