Description: On 23 April 2023, Officer Martinez was involved in a Domestic Violence incident with a person that is protected under the Domestic Violence Act, where he discharged his departmental issued firearm, while inside his home. This occurred while the protected person and three small children were present. Officer Martinez was charged by North Brunswick Police Department with Aggravated Assault‐3rd Degree, Poss of Firearm for Unlawful Purpose‐2nd Degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Child‐2nd Degree. Officer Martinez has been suspended since 24 April 2023. This matter is still pending in Middlesex Superior Court.
