Misconduct
The term police misconduct refers to illegal or inappropriate action engaged in by law enforcement officers. Police misconduct can include instances of such things as discrimination or even obstructions of justice. Police misconduct sometimes involves law enforcement officers who violate state and federal laws, as well as the civil rights of the citizens they are sworn to protect.
